My trip to India
I was so excited and was 3 months pregnant, it was saravaan’ (cousin’) wedding and I badly wanted to attend the wedding. I was very skeptical as I had to leave Kirti and go. Well I finally managed to get leave sanctioned for 10 days it was 15 days inclusive Sat and Sun. I was there at the airport and Kirti was attached to her grandmother, I hugged and kissed her so many times as this was the first time I was away from Kirti.I land at Bangalore and so eagerly waiting to see Dad and Ranjan (my sister), I saw them holding a bouquet for me and I hugged to them and hugged them. It was nearly 5 years since I saw ranjini, she was grown so big and looked like a lady. I had a wonderful time at the wedding having Thiru call me everyday and letting me know how Kirti was doing. Thiru made to point to come home early everyday and take her outing without fail, she was walking and he would say that she ran and ran here and there, it was very difficult to manage her. Thiru used to pass the line to Kirti to talk to me she would say “amma amma” and she would repeat the words thiru asked her to talk. The moment I hear her voice I would jump and find a calm place such that I get a all that she speaks. It was all over the 14 days just flew off even before I realized. Thiru called me on Thursday to check on my flight timing and only then did I realize I was worng thinking that I need to fly back on Saturday but instead it was Friday night flight. If not for his call I would’ve missed my flight. I could hardly spend time with my friends, I only spent some time with Nayeema and had been to meena’s house with Pramod for dinner. I was torn apart after knowing that I had to leave a day before as I planned to spend some time with my friends, I was crying to leave my people back in India and fly back. It was Saturday morning and around 9:00 am I come out to see Thiru, Kirti and athai (my mom-in-law) waiting for me. Kirti was so shy to come to me and after I persuaded her she came to me and hugged me. She asked me “engge pooneega amma??”(where had u been amma?). I could feel that she was grown big and I missed so many things.
